Marie S Heeder, 76, of Brocton, New York passed away peacefully on Saturday, (Nov. 10, 2012) at Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness. Her loving daughters and son-in-laws were at her side.
She was born January 3, 1936 in Forestville N.Y., the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ethel (Burgun) Tylock.
Working for the Church was an important part of her life. For over 30 years, Marie worked as secretary of St. Patrick's Church in Brocton and later at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Silver Creek. Marie was an active member of St. Patrick's Church, serving as Eucharistic minister, organizer of the Parish Council, and Member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Marie also served as a Parish Representative to the Diocese's Region 23 and taught religious education classes for a number of years. In 1973, Marie helped establish the Parish's Catholic Youth Organization and in 1974 received the St. Christopher Award for outstanding work with youth. Marie was also active in the community. She was a former member and trustee of the Brocton Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Heart Association, March of Dimes and Catholic Charities. She was particularly proud of her involvement with Recovery Incorporated. For over 27 years, Marie served as one of the agency's mental Health Support Group leaders.

Marie was an avid reader, enjoyed doing arts and crafts projects with her husband, sewing and most importantly spending time at home with her family.
Marie is survived by her four loving daughters: Patricia (David) Takacs of Pittsburgh Pa.; Barbara (Rick) Musso and Laurie Heeder of Brocton, N.Y.; and Sherry Heeder of Dunkirk, N.Y.. Besides her daughters she is also survived by three brothers: Robert (Helen) Tylock of Rochester N.Y.; Walter (Nancy) Tylock of Fredonia, N.Y.; and Kenneth (Jean) Tylock of Dunkirk N.Y.; two sisters: Linda (Douglas) Randall of Phoenix, Ariz. and Diane (Daniel) Dennison of Fredonia, N.Y. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents , she was preceeded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Heeder whom she married August 25, 1956 and who passed away June 1, 1999. She was also predeceased by her sister, Joyce Austin.
Calling hours will be held at the Morse Funeral Home 51 Highland Ave, Brocton, N.Y. From 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 13. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2012) at 11 a.m. by Rev. Joseph Walter at St Dominic's Roman Catholic Church in Brocton N.Y. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
