Dr. Gurmukh Singh, a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at SUNY Fredonia, has been invited as a Plenary Speaker in the International Conference on Perspectives of Computer Confluence with Sciences (ICPCCS-12) to be held Dec. 10-12 at Nowrosjee Wadia College, affiliated with Pune University, India.
Only internationally recognized scholars are invited as Plenary Speakers in overseas conferences and Dr. Singh is a unique example among such scholars.
Dr. Singh's travel and local hospitality expenses are supported by the host ICPCCS-12 Organization Committee. A part of Dr. Singh's trip to attend this international conference in India will be funded by Dr. John Kijinski, Dean, College of Arts and Sciences, SUNY at Fredonia.

The topic of Dr. Singh's plenary lecture is Computer Simulations to Model Natural Phenomena in Science and Medical Education. Dr. Singh's plenary lecture is based on his past seven years continued active involvement on the development and designing of computer simulation-based applications in information systems, natural, engineering and medical sciences, which uses modern computational tools, e.g., MS Visual Studio .NET, and MS Excel software systems, and UNIX and Linux Operating Systems based computing machines. For his scholarly activities, Dr. Singh performs extensive Monte Carlo simulations on high speed processors.
Dr. Singh has participated and presented his scholarly work in local SUNY Fredonia Teaching and Learning Conferences (2006 -2012) as well as in Conferences on Instruction and Technology (Genesee Community College, CIT-2008; SUNY Oswego, CIT-2009; SUNY Plattsburgh, CIT-2010; SUNY Brockport, CIT-2011) and Educational Technology Conferences (Gannon University, Erie, Pa., 2008, 2009; Saint Rose College, Albany, 2012, 2011) and has been awarded many scholarships by the CIT organizing committees and travel grants by the office of Vice President of Academic Affairs, Director of Professional Development Center (PDC), and Dean of College of Arts and Sciences, SUNY at Fredonia. Dr. Singh was honored as session chair in CIT-08 Conference hosted by SUNY Genesee Community College, on May 27-30, 2008.
Dr. Singh has four very productive national and international research collaborations: One with his senior department colleague, Dr. Khalid Siddiqui, Professor of Computer and Information Sciences, in the field of Computer Simulations and Information Systems, the second one in computational biology with Dr. Satpal Singh, Associate Professor, UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York, Buffalo NY, 14214.
The remaining two international collaborations are in the field of high energy nuclear physics with Dr. Amitabha Mukhopadhyay, Professor, Department of Physics, University of North Bengal, Siliguri, India and Dr. B. K. Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India.
