The whole deal, however, is contingent upon whether the city receives a $1.8 million grant being requested from the state Division for Youth to renovate the long-vacant high school building. If the grant application is denied, the city is not legally bound to proceed with the purchase. What the city offered for the property has not yet been disclosed.
