Forestville issues reminder on parking, leaves

The Village of Forestville is issuing a reminder that all night parking on any public highways within the corporate limits of the Village of Forestville between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. during the period beginning Nov. 1 and ending April 15 of each year is prohibited. Each violator is subject to a fine of $10 for the first offense, and $25 for the second offense. If the vehicle is not removed the village will have it moved at the owners expense.

Also please be advised that leaf vacuuming has ended. If residents wish to have their leaves picked up, they must be bagged and placed by the curb.

Lakeshore Humane Society holds 'Picture Your Pet With Santa'

The Lakeshore Humane Society's annual "Picture Your Pet With Santa" fundraiser will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. Pets', children's, and/or families' photos with Santa Claus will be taken by a professional photographer, and be available for purchase to benefit the Lakeshore Humane Society. A package deal consists of one 4 x 6 print and one 5 x 7 print for $16. Multiple pets and children are always welcome. (No exotic animals).

During the event there will be a basket raffle, as well as baked goods, crafts, jewelry, gift items, and trash and treasure for sale.

Photos will be ready for pick-up on Nov. 24, between noon and 4 p.m. at the Adoption Center. The option of additional reprints and Christmas cards will be available. Nov. 24 will also be an Adoption Day for people to see animals needing loving homes.
