Mary G. Crea, 82, of Dunkirk passed away peacefully Friday morning (Nov. 16, 2012) at the Chautauqua County Home, surrounded by her family. She was born May 12, 1930 in Brocton, the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Battaglia) Mancuso. A 1948 Fredonia High School graduate, Mary married her husband of 62
years, Sam Crea, on Nov. 23, 1950. From 1969 to 1992, she was employed as a secretary at SUNY Fredonia in the Admissions Office, Faculty Council, and the
Biology/ Chemistry, Sociology/ Anthropology and Music Departments. She also served as the secretary for the United University Professionals (UUP) at SUNY Fredonia, retiring in 2011. Mary was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Through the years, she volunteered her time in various ways to the church, Holy Trinity School and Cardinal Mindszenty High School. A woman of strong faith, Mary was very devoted to her family and especially her grandchildren, who were the love of her life. Kind and compassionate, she was also precious and special in the eyes of her many nieces and nephews. survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, Joseph, Sam and Marion Mancuso; four sisters, Grace Saeli, Augustine
Patti, Lucy Penhollow and Carmela Zaccari; and a granddaughter, Sara Pieszak, who passed away on Sept. 17, 2006. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours
will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
