Joseph C. Ricotta, 77, of Dunkirk, died, Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. He was born December 9, 1934, in North Collins,

son of the late Charles and Stephania (Lech) Ricotta. A graduate of the Class of 1952 of North Collins Central. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from

1954-55. Retired salesman at McCullaugh Coffee in Buffalo, and past employee at Dunkirk Ice Cream in sales, Manager at TOPS Market in Dunkirk and

Dunkirk Metal Products. His memberships include Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig, the parish Holy Name Society, also past president, life

member of American Legion Post #62, and past Commander, Sheridan VFW, Knights of Columbus, Life member of Fredonia Beaver Club, 1st Ward Falcons Club, Kosciuszko Polish Home, and Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council, CIAO (Chautauqua Italian American Organization) and was very active with the Honor Guard, serving

at past veterans funeral services in many capacities. Joe also enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Ryan & Nathan, along with serving on various commit-

tees including the Memorial Day Parade. Surviving is his wife of 44 years Marilyn (Szumigala) Ricotta of Dunkirk, whom he married May 18, 1968, children Joseph

(Cherie) Ricotta of Port of St. Lucie, Fla., Donald (Carrie) Ricotta of Apopka, Fla., Marcy (Michael) Pakulski and Lori Ricotta both of Dunkirk, grandchildren Ryan and Nathan Pakulski, brother of Charles Ricotta of North Collins, Frances Taber of Orchard Park, Charlotte (Terry) Remington of Boston, NY, along with several

nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Predeceased in addition to his parents by his first wife Wahneta (Johnston) Ricotta. A memorial mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday November 24, at 11 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Entombment will be in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
