Traffic ticket issued after two-car accident

Officers report the driver of the second vehicle, John D. Sisson, 42, of E. Main Street in Westfield, was following too closely and rear-ended the first vehicle as it was attempting to turn into a driveway on Route 20.

A passenger in the first vehicle and both occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Westfield Hospital with injuries.

Sisson was issued a traffic citation for following too closely. The matter will be handled in the Town of Portland Court at a later date.

Brocton EMS, Portland EMS, and Westfield EMS assisted at the scene.

Police charge Pennsylvania residents

Westfield police investigated a suspicious situation at a convenience store on East Main Street. An officer reported seeing Copfer exit the vehicle in which she was a passenger and urinating in the parking lot. Banister, was reportedly in possession of an open can of alcohol. Halko, the driver, reportedly possessed a revoked New York State driver's license.

All subjects are to appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office

CHAUTAUQUA - Sunday at about 4 a.m,. Dustin Taves was apprehended on a warrant from the Town of Portland Court for failing to appear on the charge of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Taves was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on Hewes Road for speeding. The warrant was discovered through a record check.

Taves was placed in custody and arraigned in the Town of Portland Court. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

HANOVER - Sunday morning at about 2 a.m. Thomas Banach, 44, of Dunkirk was charged with common law driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated(blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher) and insufficient headlights.

Deputies reportedly observed Banach's vehicle had only one headlight and stopped him. Further investigation lead to the charges. Banach was processed and released with appearance tickets for the Town of Hanover Court.

JAMESTOWN - Adam W. Halm, 33, of Falconer was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding on Saturday. At 2:25 a.m. police observed a speeding motorist traveling east on Falconer Street. The vehicle was stopped and the operator, Halm, was found to be intoxicated. He was released on an appearance ticket for Jamestown City Court.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office

LEON - Dennis C. Ziegler, 68, of Mosher Hollow Road was charged with first-degree robbery on Nov. 15 following an investigation.

It was found that Ziegler did display a weapon and forcibly steal $20 from a Gowanda man while on Mosher Hollow Road.

He was arraigned in Leon Town Court where he was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $7,000. He is to appear in the Leon Town Court at a later date for further court proceedings.
