City operations curtailed Thursday

Dunkirk City Hall will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving Day. There will be no rubbish pickup thursday. The Thursday zone will be picked up Friday and Friday's zone will be picked up Saturday.

Cops, Kids and Christmas Clothing and Toy Drive to be held

The Gowanda Police Department Police Benevo-lent Association will sponsor the Cops, Kids and Christmas Clothing and Toy Drive and the Christmas Decoration Drive. Dona-tions are being accepted to share warmth and joy with families struggling financially through tough economic times in the Gowanda Central School District. Donations sought include, new toys, clothing, gift certificates and decorations. Donations can be dropped off at the Gowanda Police Department, 27 E. Main St., Gowanda; Gowanda Cen-tral Schools Main Office in Middle and High schools; and the School Resource Officer's office in the Gowanda Elementary School. Gas prices fall

Average retail gasoline prices in Rochester have fallen 1.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.85/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.43/g, according to gasoline price website RochesterGasPrices.com.
