Recently I took my prescription to a pharmacy to be filled. The prescription read "Take one pill three times a day." This medication is a controlled substance.
Anyone who can read and multiply three times 30 gets 90 pills. When I got home and opened the stapled bag, there were only 30 pills.
I called the pharmacy, and they said they couldn't do anything because the medication is a controlled substance.
What happened to the 60 pills that I did not get? They counted their inventory and said it was correct. I did not get them, so that only leaves one thing. Someone helped themselves to 60 pills. Now I have to explain this to my doctor, who may not believe me.
So the bottom line is, check your script before leaving the pharmacy to make sure you don't have to go through this. Stealing or selling a controlled substance is a felony. Check your order, open the bag and make sure it is correct.
