GOWANDA - As part of the Gowanda High School Career Fair held recently in the high school gymnasium, Gowanda Police Officer and School Resource Officer Jen Alessi represented the criminal justice, human services and law career table.

Students from the middle school and high school attended the event, stopping by tables with careers that may be of interest to the students.

Pictured are students who stopped to ask questions of New York State Trooper Mike Connors (second from left), Gowanda Police Officer Jen Alessi (third from right) and Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Bennett (second from right) at the Gowanda High School Career Fair.

A large number of students stopped by the table to watch a video from an actual police academy as well as gather flyers and documents pertaining to careers in law enforcement.

The students had questions about required college degrees, salaries, as well as questions about the police academy.
