Westfield Academy alumni make donation to educational fund

Class of 1982 contributes 30th reunion proceeds to help local students

November 28, 2012
The OBSERVER

WESTFIELD - Mem-bers of the Westfield Academy and Central School's Parent Connect-ion Friends of Education Fund Subcommittee ac-cepted a $500 donation from the WACS Class of 1982. This class used the proceeds from their 30th class reunion alumni dance to make this donation as well as support the North Lake Family Recreation Center.

The Friends of Education Fund is a partnership of Parent Connection and the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation with a mission to invest in and support local children's overall educational experience. The fund exists for the purpose of improving the educational experiences of students by investing in special programs and initiatives, capital projects, and other items needed within the school district. The money raised will be directed toward areas that cannot be adequately supported without private funding.

The Class of 1982 is the first graduating class from the academy to make such a generous donation. With this donation they have issued a challenge to the other graduates of Westfield: "Get your class together, look at your class alumni fund, do a fundraiser, sponsor an event and match this donation! WACS needs your help."
