Ripley School Board meets today
A special meeting of the Board of Education of the Ripley Central School District will be held today at 4 p.m., in the District Office of the Ripley Central School for the purpose of contractual negotiations, and any and all items that come before the board.
Lake Erie Shore Explore & Winery Warmup Saturday
The Chautauqua Water-shed Conservancy will host a sunset hike on the shore of Lake Erie on Saturday. The one-hour hike will begin at the Westfield Barcelona Beach parking lot at 3:30 p.m. and will be followed by a wine tasting with cheese and crackers at 21 Brix Winery at 5: p.m. (wine tasting fees apply). The winery is located at 6654 West Main Road in Portland.
CWC executive director John Jablonski III said, "The cobbly, driftwood-strewn Lake Erie shoreline is beautiful in every season and in all kinds of weather. We will hike to Chautauqua Creek and back and hope to see a spectacular sunset at 4:47 p.m. Participants should expect a strong, chilly wind off the lake and should dress appropriately."
Participants may attend either or both events. Pre-registration is recommended, and there is a $5 suggested donation for non-CWC members attending the hike.
