Elks Hoop Shoot, 9 a.m. to noon, Dunkirk High School. Each person will shoot two sets of free throws. May be done anytime during the event; it is not a requirement to stay for all three hours. Age division: Girls 8-9, 10-11, 12-13.Boys 8-9, 10-11, 12-13. Proof of age needed for each participant. Prizes given out for each age group. Empty Bowls Fundraiser, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Hedwig's Social Center of Blessed Mary Angela Parish, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. The Chautauqua Area Potters (CAP) presents this annual fundraiser, a nationwide campaign to fight local hunger. Choose a handcrafted bowl, make a cash donation, and receive a bowl of soup made by BOCES culinary arts students. Bowls will then be washed and wrapped as gifts. Sensational Santa Show, 11 a.m., Anderson Lee Library, Silver Creek. The Sensational Santa Show is a children's magic show, performed by David Jeffers (Mr. J.), and is all about Santa Claus. Refreshments and small prizes for the children will be available after the show. There will also be a large display of seasonal books for cardholders to borrow.
Secret Santa Shoppe, 1 to 4 p.m., Lakeshore Marine Club, Route 5, Silver Creek. A variety of vendors, including Mary Kay, Premier Jewelry, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Dove Chocolate Discoveries and more, will be present. This is also a Marine Toys for Tots drive, and anyone who brings an unwrapped toy to donate is entered to win a door prize. Admission to the event is free.
