Holiday Toy Drive at Clarion Hotel
The Clarion Hotel Holiday Toy Drive will be held today through Dec. 23. New, unopened toys are needed for less fortunate children, newborn to 12 years old. Drop off toys at the hotel, 30 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk. Donate for a chance to win a prize.
First: One free night stay at the Clarion Hotel, including breakfast, Wi-Fi and one 10 percent off coupon for Windjammers.
Second: One free week in the fitness center, including access to hot tub, pool, sauna, free weights, exercise machines.
Third: Winter basket from local stores.

Citywide Neighborhood Watch meeting set
There will be a neighborhood watch meeting for all city residents on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center on Franklin Avenue.
This meeting will focus on how neighborhood watch works and how the residents and neighborhood watch can help the Police Department combat issues in their neighborhoods.
"We encourage anyone interested in neighborhood watch and helping to make their neighborhoods safer to please attend the meeting," Police Chief David Ortolano stated.
County Planning Board meets Dec. 4
The December meeting of the Chautauqua County Planning Board has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. at the County of Chautauqua IDA Offices located at 200 Harrison St. in Jamestown.

Chautauqua Institution honored
Chautauqua Institution's 2013 season has been named one of North America's "Top 100 Events" for group travel. The annual list, presented by the American Bus Association, provides motorcoach and tour operators with recommendations for group-friendly celebrations, festivals, fairs and commemorative events.
A committee of judges selected Chautauqua Institution from hundreds of event nominations, considering the broad appeal, accessibility to motorcoaches, skill at handling large groups and a variety of other relevant criteria.
Chautauqua Institution was previously recognized in the "Top 100 Events" list in 2010.
The 2013 Chautauqua Season opens June 22, and runs through Aug. 25, with more than 2,200 events in the arts, education, religion and recreation planned for the nine-week program. For the latest on confirmed speakers and performers, visit www.ciweb.org.

Cops, kids and Christmas clothing being held
The Gowanda Police Department Police Benevolent Association will sponsor the Cops, Kids and Christmas Clothing and Toy Drive as well as the Christmas Decoration Drive.
Donations are being accepted to share warmth and joy with families struggling financially through these tough economic times in the Gowanda Central School District.
Donations sought include, new toys, clothing, gift certificates and decorations. Donations can be dropped off at the Gowanda Police Department, 27 E. Main St., Gowanda; Gowanda Central Schools Main Office in Middle and High schools; and the School Resource Officer's office in the Gowanda Elementary School. Donations will be accepted through early December.
