Sister Anna Tseng

Sister Anna Tseng, a Missionary Sister of St. Columban's, died on November 28, 2012 at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk, New York.

Anna was born in Naufeng, Kiangsi, China on January 5, 1921, the beloved daughter of Peter Tseng and Anna Pong. She entered religious life November 15, 1948 in Cahricon, Ennis, Ireland. Following her profession of vows, on September 12, 1951, Anna continued her studies, graduating from Mundelain College in Chicago, IL, and later Loyola University, in Chicago, IL, and Marymount University, Los Angeles.

Sr. Anna taught at Our Lady of Guadalupe School in Los Angeles, and at Blessed Sacrament School, Westminster, CA. and was assigned to missionary work in Hong Kong, China for three years. In 1998 Sister Anna joined the Columban Sisters' Community at St. Columban's On the Lake, Silver Creek, NY, where she resided and assisted with resident activities.

Friends may call at the Chapel at St. Columban's On the Lake, 2546 Lake Road, Silver Creek NY on Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 3-5 p.m., where a prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Walsh, SSC, on Monday, December 3, at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Columban's On the Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Columban Sisters' missionary work. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
