The town of Stockton Planning Board will host a town wide community Christmas lighting contest. Entrance is free and applications are available at the Stockton Library or the Town Clerk's Office. Please return applications by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 to the town hall, Stockton library or the library book drop off. Judging will take place at 6 p.m. on or after Dec. 23. The contest is open to residents of the village of Cassadaga.
Sinclairville to start "Zero Sort" recycling
Beginning Dec. 7 the recycling in the Village will be changed to "Zero Sort." Our Trash Hauler for the Village, Casella Waste Management will be collecting recyclables every other week beginning Dec. 7.
Residents can put ALL recyclables at the curb every other week and no longer need to sort. Acceptable items to recycle are: cardboard, clean boxboard (shoe boxes, cereal boxes), office paper (white and colored) magazines, newspapers, junk mail, envelopes (manila & regular) file folders, computer paper, card stock, aluminum cans, tin cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles #1 - #7.
Items that can not be put out for zero sort are: food waste, (use Sinclairville trash bags) styrofoam, plastic bags, printer cartridges (toner or inkjet), cell phones, batteries, computers or other electronics and glassware.
New calendars will be available at the Sinclairville Superette and the Sinclairville Village Office. For questions call the Village Office at 962-9455 or Casella at 366-4060 during regular business hours.
Dunkirk Town Board workshop Tuesday
The Dunkirk Town Board will hold a workshop at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the Town Hall, 4737 Willow Road. The purpose of the workshop is to review the preliminary building study and to conduct any and all lawful business that may come before the board.
