Chamber holds annual banquet in Mayville

MAYVILLE - The Mayville/Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Meeting and Banquet on recently at Webb's Cap-tains Table Restaurant in Mayville.

Guests in attendance were Andy Cesarz and Bob Benjamin, accepting the Community Service Award on behalf of Mayville Boy Scout Troop 126; Kristie and Andy Brown of Home Chic, recipient of the Business Improvement Award; Ken Shearer, May-ville/ Chautauqua Cham-ber President, and Jennifer Shearer, both of Chautau-qua Marina; Ben Webb, Mayville/Chautauqua Chamber Board Member, and Amy Webb, of Webb's Year Round Resort; Bruce Stanton, Mayville/ Chau-tauqua Chamber Board Member, and Laurie Stan-ton, of Athenaeum Hotel; James Barrett, Mayville/ Chautauqua Chamber Board Member, of North-west Savings Bank; Hugh Butler and Marsha Butler of Butler Systems Research & Design; Julianne Baran-iewicz of Standard Porta-ble, and Mary Sue Pawlak; Erin Andersen and Sheila Webster of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Com-merce; John Rawlinson, Coordinator for the West-field/Barcelona Commu-nity Chamber of Com-merce; and Deborah Mar-sala, Coordinator for the Mayville/Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce, and Larry Mar-sala.

Elected to the 2013 Board of Directors for 3-year terms were Hugh Butler of Butler Systems Research & Design and James Barrett of Northwest Savings Bank.

They will join fellow Board Members Ken Shearer of Chautauqua Marina, Ben Webb of Webb's Year Round Re-sort, and Bruce Stanton of Athenaeum Hotel.

Ken Shearer presented the 2012 Community Service Award to Mayville Boy Scout Troop 126 for giving back to the community through their many service projects, including an annual food drive benefiting the Mayville Food Pantry, baseball dugouts and benches at Chautau-qua Lake Central School, a soccer field supply cabin, an outdoor adult exercise equipment area at Lakeside Park, Mayville, as well as many others.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Troop were Scoutmaster Andy Cesarz and Assistant Scoutmaster Robert Benjamin.

The 2012 Business Improvement Award was presented to Mayville business Home Chic.

Owner Kristie Brown recently renovated a new location in Mayville, in preparation for the businesses' move, creating an attractive and colorful atmosphere for the home decor business, which features a new coffee and tea bar.

They also just recently celebrated Home Chic's 5-year anniversary. A banquet was served by host Webb's Captain's Table Restaurant.
