FALCONER - Falconer improved to 2-0, winning 10 matches en-route to a 53-22 victory over Cassadaga Valley (1-1), in non-league wrestling action on Tuesday.

Kyle Ross's 7-2 victory over Billy Sischo in the 138-pound matchup was a highlight for the Golden Falcons and Tim Franzine pinned Tyler Rendell in 5:59 to take the 126-pound match.

For the Cougars, Tyson Gugino outlasted Dan Williamson for a 2-1 win in overtime at 220 pounds.

Southwestern 39, Gowanda 38

GOWANDA - Thanks to a trio of pins, Southwestern evened its record at 1-1 while claiming its first Division 1 wrestling win by edging host Gowanda, 39-38.

Those pins came at 170 pounds when Tanner Hoose stopped Brian Dils in 3:53, Ben Swanson downed Dalton Mills in one minute at 182 pounds and Howard Boutelle dropped Vinnie Thompson in the 195-pound match at 1:18.

At 106 pounds, the Trojans' Ryan Hetrick also pinned Dave Poff in 5:25.

For Gowanda (1-1), Cody Richter pinned Joey Lindberg in 4:29 and John Flynn pinned Mitchell Johnson in 1:24.
