Despite several solid performances, the Dunkirk Marauders fell to Franklinville, 92-63, Thursday in CCAA Division 1 boys high school swimming.
Dunkirk's Billy Bradley took first place in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:14.98. Teammate Josh Saye placed first in the 500 freestyle and second in the 200 IM with times of 6:41.23 and 2:50.87, respectively.

Also for the Marauders, Charles Medema took first in the 100 butterfly (1:04.75) and second in the 100 backstroke (1:10.11). Andrew Saye had second-place finishes in the 50 freestlye and 100 breaststroke at :27.67 and 1:16.14, respectively.
Peter Kubera placed second in diving with 156.08 while Donald Haynes touched the wall first in the 100 freestyle at 1:07.71.
The 200 freestyle relay, which consisted of Medema, Bradley, Josh Saye and Andrew Saye, took second with a time of 1:53.35. Meanwhile, the 400 freestyle relay team took first with a time of 4:28.84. Members of the team included Josh Saye, Peter Kubera, Donald Haynes and Billy Bradley.
"The swimmers swam very hard," Dunkirk coach Bryan Westling said. "While we did not win, we took a large number of first and second places. I am very proud of all of my swimmers and I see only good things to come for the rest of the season."
Frewsburg 120, Fredonia 63
Jacob Brown and Reed Porterfield each won two events in a losing effort as the Frewsburg Bears defeated Fredonia.
Brown took first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :54.60 while also taking place in the 50 freestyle, touching the wall in :24.97. Meanwhile, Porterfield took first place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:20.05 and first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:08.39.
Also for the Hillbillies, Trystan Meyer placed first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.67. Teammate Matt Zevenbergen placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:25.90 in a losing effort.
