Little Explorers, 10 a.m. to noon, Audubon Center and Sanctuary, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown. Topic is "Ever Green, Evergreens!" Crochet Activism at the Audubon Center and Sanctuary, 1 to 3:30 p.m., 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown. Participants will learn the history of crochet and the use of crochet to bring attention to an ecosystem in peril, and make crocheted baskets from plarn (plastic yarn) made from old grocery bags. Findley Lake Santa Claus Visit, 1 to 3 p.m., Findley Lake Fire Dept., Main St. Visit Santa Claus and enjoy cookies and refreshments. Gifts will be available for children to wrap for their parents.

Screening of '2012 The Mayan Truth,' 7 p.m., McEwen Hall, Room G24, SUNY Fredonia campus. Film will be presented by Maya-Taino Initiative leader Miguel Sague; he will explain the Mayan Calendar and the prophecy for this year, 2012, as shared by the Mayan Day Keepers. A discussion will follow the film. Sague works in cooperation with Mayan artisan collectives in Guatemala and will have indigenous crafts for sale. There is no charge for this presentation. The chorus will perform the Christmas Cantata "Canticle of Christmas" by Tom Fetke and Camp Kirkland. Directed by Sally Merwin. Public is welcome. Service of Prayer for Healing of Human Hearts, 7 p.m., Harvest Chapel, Matteson St., Fredonia. A special service to pray for the pains of all community members, be they physical, spiritual, or emotional, this Christmas season.

Silver Sneakers Exercise Program, 9 to 10 a.m., Dunkirk Senior Center, 45 Cliffstar Court. Free for participants of Independent Health and $1 for all others. Coffee served every Monday and Wednesday.

Computer Class: Intermediate Excel, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dunkirk Free Library. Part 4 of 6. This six week, second level course continues during the month to introduce participants to the advanced features available in the Excel 2010 program. Some prior Excel knowledge is recommended.
