Trinity Episcopal Church Women

Trinity Episcopal Church Women held their November meeting in Garland Hall. Several topics were discussed and future dates were set. This organization is open to all women who attend Trinity Episcopal Church.

The annual Christmas gathering will be held on Tuesday at the home of member Connie Van Scoter at 6 p.m. Anyone who has not yet signed up and wishes to come is asked to do so on the sheet provided in Garland Hall by this Sunday. During this gathering, besides enjoying a holiday meal together, the group will be singing carols accompanied by choir member Sean Doyle, a member of the SUNY Fredonia music faculty.

The final activity will be to gather in the results of the year-long Trinity Episcopal Church Women Christmas Savings project. Last January all the women were invited to take a small container and put quarters in it all year long. The outreach project that has been chosen for this year's savings is to support the Micro-Credit Loans for Women project, part of the Episcopal Relief and Development Project which is run by the Episcopal Diocese. The second project the women hope to support is to connect with a church in the downstate New York or New Jersey area which has been damaged by Hurricane Sandy and help to support their recovery.

The newly-designed stationery was adopted for use by the group. A preliminary discussion was held on possible topics for the annual Epiphany Tea, held sometime in January or early February. The final plans were made for the yearly Christmas cookie sale on Dec. 14.

The next meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 5, at the home of member Judy Reynolds at 10 a.m.

The remainder of the meeting was used to pack the items that had been donated into boxes for three complete turkey dinners to be given to those in need.

The group looks forward to many members attending in January.
