The annual election for the Cherry Creek Fire District will be held Tuesday at the Cherry Creek Fire Hall. One commissioner will be elected for a five-year term beginning on Jan. 1. This election is open to all eligible voters in the Town of Cherry Creek. Voting will commence at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
Christmas cantata in Sheridan today
Sheridan United Methodist Church will hold a Christmas cantata, "Silent Night! Holy Night!," today at 6 p.m. All are welcome to hear the Christmas message told through traditional carols and new, poignant compositions. Jeannine Van Wey, Sheridan UMC's choir director and organist, will lead the night's entertainment.
A cookie reception, hosted by the United Methodist Women, will follow the performance. Admission is free. The church is located at 2679 Route 20 in Sheridan. Call 672-2048 for more information.
Fredonia street closure
Temple Street will be closed to all northbound, through traffic at Park Drive (SUNY), Monday, Dec. 10 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for water main repair. Northbound traffic is urged to detour at either Maple Avenue or Risley Street.
Fredonia water disruption
There will be a water service disruption to residents on Temple Street from Old Main Drive (SUNY) to Brigham Road on Monday, Dec. 10 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents may experience little or no water during that time.
