Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
MAYVILLE - After a very lengthy investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office into burglaries and larcenies in the Mayville area, two Mayville area subjects, ages 17 and 16 years old, were picked up on county court warrants. In July, the sheriff's office investigated two separate burglaries at 3 Seas Recreation and next door at the Chautauqua Belle, where numerous items were stolen. The items were all recovered shortly after. The 16-year-old subject was also charged with fourth-degree grand larceny for theft of an all-terrain vehicle from a property on Route 430 in the town of Chautauqua, which also occurred in July, investigated by the sheriff's office. This ATV was also recovered. The Chautauqua County District Attorney's office took both cases to grand jury where the subjects were indicted on the charges. Both subjects are currently incarcerated at the Chautauqua County Jail.
FRENCH CREEK - On Dec. 5, a Corry, Pa., man was jailed on charges of fourth-degree grand larceny.
According to the sheriff's office, in late September to early October, Jimmy O'Neal, 26, of Corry, Pa., was employed by the Fairway Suites located near Peek n' Peak. During this time frame, O'Neal allegedly stole four flat screen televisions from the Fairway Suites totaling more than $2,000. An investigation followed and subsequently O'Neal was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and arraigned in French Creek Court where he was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.
On Dec 7, a Fredonia woman was charged with failure to comply with terms and conditions of a DWI release.
Around 9 a.m, sheriff's deputies arrested Jessica M. Haynes, 23, of Brigham Road in Fredonia. Haynes was arrested on a county court warrant for allegedly violating the terms and conditions of release from a previous DWI conviction. Haynes was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to later be arraigned in County Court.
On Dec. 6, Kali Jones, 40, of Jamestown, was picked up in the town of Pomfret on a bench warrant from the city of Jamestown.
Around 12:20 a.m. deputies stopped Jones for speeding on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. Jones was found to have a suspended license, and to be wanted in the city of Jamestown. Jones was transported to Jamestown Police Department and will appear in the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date.
WESTFIELD - On Dec. 5, two men were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and one with inadequate tail lights.
Around 7:20 p.m., deputies stopped Tyler E. Wright, 18, of Westfield, on Route 5 in the town of Westfield for allegedly having a tail light out. Following an investigation, Wright and his passenger, Steven M. Morrell, 21, of Westfield, were both arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. Wright was also charged with inadequate tail lights. Both are to appear in the Town of Westfield Court at a later date.
HANOVER - On Dec. 6, the sheriff's office completed a burglary investigation that resulted in the arrest of Barbara L. Azzarella, 47, of Irving. Azzarella was arraigned on charges of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief and released on her own recognizance to appear in court on a later date.
