PERRYSBURG - The town of Perrysburg was provided an update by Jake Alianello of Alianello Engineering on the central water project at its monthly meeting. Alianello said the contractor, J.D. Northrup, was wrapping up the Edwards Corners well project by putting finishing touches on the well house.
"They will be wrapping things up rather quickly," he said.
Besides providing an update on the finishing of the project, Alianello brought the request of a change order for $2,400. Contractors needed additional piping over summer to complete the project. Pipes that needed to be replaced at the corner of Edwards Corners and Mosher roads were different. Some of the pipe that was used was PVC pipe and was not pressure hold; once the contractor started digging into the ground, they noticed the problem requiring the workers to work an additional day and a half of work.

Jake Alianello of Alianello Engineering addressed the town board regarding the updates to the central water project.
"They found out what was wrong ... once they dug in the ground," Alianello said.
Due to this extra work, the contractors requested the change order to raise the amount to $155,100. While the contractors wanted over a day's work for payment, Alianello said he got the contractors to agree to a half day of work including parts and labor for the change order. The town board approved the change order of $2,400.
Also during the meeting the town approved the following: Ehmke Well Drillers of Silver Creek, pending meeting qualifications for construction of the water treatment plant; to send a support letter for the Gowanda Central School afterschool program; and Louise Hubbard for deputy town clerk.
