This was, as some may say, a hair-raising experience in Forestville.
The more students who shaved their heads, the more money raised. And, once again, Forestville school students and their community proved just how giving they are as more than $6,000 was raised for Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo this month.
"Forestville is definitely making a difference for the future of cancer research and tomorrow's cures," said Carol McPeak-McDonald, reading teacher.
Thirty-nine students and five adults took part in the event, which also benefited the Locks of Love initiative.
Great job everyone.
By the way, we must note, McPeak-McDonald has been a remarkable leader in fund-raising at the school. She is nearing retirement. We wish her the best.
