Fredonia boys, girls fall to Jamestown in D-1

JAMESTOWN - Jamestown's boys and girls bowling teams earned sweeps over Fredonia on Wednesday at the Jamestown Bowling Company, during CCAA Division 1 action.

In the boys match, the Red Raiders (11-5) dropped the Hillbillies (4-12) with a linescore of 873-896-972-2,741 to 811-866-872-2,549.

Brandon Propheter led the way for Jamestown, charting a 212-243-203-658 while Eddie Merwick chipped in a 224-223-625. Chris Moynihan had a 531 series in the win while Chris Edens rolled a 191.

For the Hillbillies, Collin Schanzlin had a 244-208-646, Nate Wojtkowiak a 539 and Jeff Rowe a 496.

Jamestown won the girls match with a linescore of 739-743-811-2,293 to Fredonia's 638-684-763-2,085.

For Jamestown (14-2), Morgan Melquist rolled a 192-251-607, Andraya Vazquez a 198-505 and sapphire Dean a 435.

Maitland Langworthy led the Lady Hillbillies (10-6) with a 430.

Gowanda girls win, boys fall to Southwestern

JAMESTOWN - The Gowanda girls bowling team dropped Southwestern, 4-0, Wednesday at the Jamestown Bowling Company, during CCAA Division 1 action, improving its record to 12-4 on the season.

The Lady Panthers won with a linescore of 621-689-657-1,967 to the Lady Trojans' (5-11) 570-548-538-1,656.

Leading the way for Gowanda were Maylyssa Farley, who charted games of 188 and 162 while teammate Danielle Lesefske rolled a 187 and Brittnee Stelley a 153. Farley finished with a 483 series.

For Southwestern, Amanda Stewart had games of 177 and 155 while Shelby Kalfas added a 159.

In the boys match, Gowanda (12-4) fell 4-0 to Southwestern (11-5), as the Trojans out-pinned the Panthers, 921-943-846-2,710 to 688-809-671-2,168.

The Panthers were led by Justin Grimm's 195 and 156 games while Todd Wingard added a 169. The Trojans were led by Taylor West's 243-215-633 while Brett Worland chipped in a 221, Gabe Bursch a 191 and Blake Schrope a 187.

CCAA Division 2

Brocton earns sweep of Silver Creek

Brocton (18-2) swept away Silver Creek (17-7) Wednesday during CCAA Division 2 boys bowling action at Lucky Lanes.

The Bulldogs finished with a linescore of 720-855-888-2,463 to the Black Knights' 674-783-726-2,183, as Taylor Delcamp finished with a 245-185-597 and John Nickerson a 216-178-544.

Also for Brocton, Kory Crandall had a 171-165 and Steve Krystofiak a 170.

For Silver Creek, Carl Cotroneo had a 198, Robert Patterson a 194, and Tyler Steklasa a 179-475. Tim Manning charted a 172 in the loss.
