NORTH COLLINS - After Gowanda's Lucas Bawdy finished a 4-point play to tie the game at 60-all with 18 seconds left, North Collins' Jared Bauerlein finished off his 15-point night by hitting the eventual game-winning 3-pointer from the right wing with 4.9 seconds remaining, to give the Eagles a 63-60 win over the Panthers, during non-league boys basketball action Wednesday.
Gowanda had a chance to tie the game as the clock ran out, but Chase Williams was unable to connect on a 3-pointer from the top of the key.
The game was back-and-forth all night long with North Collins taking an 18-14 lead after the first quarter, before Gowanda fought back to get to within one at halftime, 32-31. Both teams scored 11 points in the third quarter, with the Eagles edging the Panthers, 20-18 in the fourth quarter.
Jared Keppel led all scorers with 31 points, completing a double-double with 10 rebounds. For Gowanda, Zack Stevens led the team with 22 points and 15 rebounds while Bawdy and Williams finished with 13 points each.

Meyer helps FHS drop Falconer
FALCONER - Dylan Meyer spearheaded a third-quarter run and the Fredonia Hillbillies went on to down Falconer, 63-51, in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 basketball game Wednesday night.
Meyer poured in 27 points to spoil the home debut of Falconer coach Tim Anderson.
Falconer was down, 27-25, at halftime and took a four-point lead before Fredonia went on its run for a 44-35 edge after three stanzas.
The Golden Falcons controlled the boards with Mike Wilcox having 13 rebounds and Nick Conti 11. Mitch Carter and Devon Cameron contributed seven.
Meyer had four 3-pointers and John Piper, who finished with 14 points, added three. Trent Thompson added two and Jon Fletcher one.
Carter led the Golden Falcons with 18 points, including four 3-pointers, followed by Conti with 10 points and Cameron with nine.
Carter and Cameron had two blocks apiece while Conti, Cameron and Travis Nowicki had two assists and Conti two steals for the hosts.
