ANGOLA - Two Lake Shore Central High School teachers have been honored for their commitment and service to the community.
Lake Shore High School teacher Anthony George has been honored for starting a movement that has raised more than $1.65 million.
George was honored for his efforts on National Philanthropy Day sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals WNY Chapter on Nov. 14 during ceremonies at Salvatore's Italian Gardens.

He was nominated for the 2012 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award by the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.

English Teacher Jeff Connors has been honored for his success in his profession and involvement in community activities.
Buffalo Business First has recognized Connors as young leader in Western New York by his selection for inclusion in the 40 Under 40 for 2012. He was recognized for his achievements at the 21st Annual Awards Luncheon on Nov. 9 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
More than 370 people were nominated for consideration for inclusion in the 40 Under 40 recognition program. Connors was nominated by Lake Shore graduate Tracy Swyers, a 2011 recipient of the designation.
