Sidney J. Niedermeyer Jr., 70, passed away Tues-day, Dec. 11, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Family and friends from STEL were with him.
In his younger years, he and his wife Maureen would travel state to state, with Montana their favorite. He loved to ride and train horses. Later in life, he enjoyed cooking for friends and playing pinochle. A caring man, he was blessed to have had so many people that had touched his life.
Sid wrote poems of life, family and friends.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Maureen; second wife, Joan, who passed away last year; parents Lorraine and Sidney Niedermeyer; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Grace McConville.
Sidney is survived by his two sisters, Sandra Pagano of Silver Creek and Linda Schoener of Fredonia, NY; stepsons, Richard Hillman of Tok, Alaska and Daniel B. Hillman of Fredonia; stepdaughter Linda (David) Woodman of Lakeland, Fla.; five stepgrandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
"A Celebration of LIfe" was arranged by his friends at STEL. It was very caring and appreciated by his family and so very special since he was present. They sincerely showed their love and support for him.
Thank you, STEL, Hospice - you were always there for Sid, at home and at the hospital. Thank you.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Dunkirk and Fredonia area Hospice.
