BROCTON - The Westfield Lady Wolverines (3-2) used a big second half to rally past the Brocton Lady Bulldogs (1-2), 44-30, Thursday in non-league girls high school basketball action.

Trailing 17-13 at halftime, Westfield came out and outscored the home team 18-6 in the third quarter and 13-7 in the final eight minutes for the victory.

"I think our defense slacked off," Brocton coach Ken Purcell said. "We were giving them better looks. We were playing man and we just weren't getting the switches. Give credit to Westfield. They came out and did what they neeeded to do to set the tempo We were flat footed."

Kari Knopp led the Lady Wolverines with 13 points and eight rebounds while Emily Archer scored eight points. Miranda Warner scored six points and pulled down nine rebounds. Emily Archer and Carson Hauser each had four steals.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Jess Putcher's 15 points. Jess Merle and Morgan Bennett combined for 17 rebounds in a losing effort.
