‘Cell Phones for Soldiers’

Students at Forestville Elementary School have been busy the past few months collecting old cell phones for a worthy cause. Students collected 243 phones, providing 607.5 hours of cost-free communication services to Active Duty military members as well as veterans. This project was coordinated by Carol McPeak-McDonald, reading teacher, and Brenda Schneider, elementary librarian. Pictured left to right are: Retired USMC MSgt. Brian Schneider, second-grader Callie Grupa, first-grader Jacob Szumigala and second-grader George Vento.
