John B. Wright

John B. Wright, 83, of Silver Creek, NY passed away Tuesday (Dec. 18, 2012) at the Lake Shore Nursing Home in Irving, where he resided for the past four years.

He was born Dec. 15, 1929 in Rochester, the son of the late Roy and Mary (O'Keefe) Wright.

John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Bridget; three sons, Harold Voss of Dunkirk, Timothy Voss of Silver Creek and Daniel (Karen) Voss of Forestville; a daughter, Bonnie S. Davis of Fredonia; a brother, Richard Wright of Rochester; two sisters, Mary Anne (John) Murray of Rochester and Julie Ranches of Rochester; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Cannon; and a brother, David Wright.

John retired as the street supervisor for the village of Silver Creek, after many years of service. He also was a town of Hanover police officer. His real love was being a barber; he loved talking with all the men who came to him. John volunteered to cut the men's hair at his nursing home.

He was very involved in local politics and the Democratic Party. He enjoyed walking with his wife Bridget around town. John liked Western wear and country music and was loved by many of the people he encountered. His grandchildren and family were closest to his heart.

Friends may call at his home, 2 Knight St., Silver Creek on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held privately according to the wishes of the family.
