DHS’s Dunbar resets own school record in pole vault

LANCASTER - Lisa Dunbar continued to raise the bar, so to speak, as she broke her own school record in the pole vault Friday during high school indoor track and field action.

Dunbar leaped 8-feet-6 inches to break her previous mark.

Meanwhile, Cailin Pogorzelski took first place in the 300-meter dash with a time of :48 and third place in the 600 at 1:50.6. In the 50, Emilee Hanlon placed first with a time of :7.2 while teammate Shadaily Conception placed fifth at :7.4.

Dunbar, Pogorzelski, Conception and Hanlon also made up the 4x200 relay team while placed first, as they crossed the finish line 2:00.3.

In the long jump, third place was captured by Mariah Esquilin with a leap 11-2 while in the triple jump, Samantha Hemenger placed second with a distance of 26-11.

On the boys side, Ray Tarnowski placed second in the 1,600 with a time of 5:15.1 while Nick Barlett took fourth in the 50 with a time of :6.4

In the long jump, Verek Nixon placed second with a distance of 16-1. In the pole vault: Tim Cerrie placed second as he soared 8-6. In the shot put, Alex Williams placed second with a throw of 37-8.

The 4x200 relay team placed second with a time of 1:48.8. The team was comprised of Nixon, Barlett, Nick Stolinski and Adrien Maldonado.
