Superintendent helps kindergartners make Christmas ornaments

December 22, 2012
The OBSERVER

Kindergarten students at Chautauqua Lake Central School made ornaments with the help of Superintendent Ben Spitzer, who visited their classroom for the special project. All the children worked at two different craft tables; teacher Kim McMahon assisted with a glittery project at the other station. Here Spitzer explains the pattern of red and white beads that Jada Cole (right) is using to make a candy cane ornament, as classmate Mary Marshaus looks on. Seated in the back, Gage Burris (left) waits for his turn, while Gunner Keener works on his project. Spitzer regularly reads to the children in this class. "He is good with the kids," confirmed McMahon. "They just love him!"
