The OBSERVER

Jonathan I. Lawrence, MHA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer for Lake Erie Regional Health System of New York presents Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. Executive Director Roberta Keller with presents and funding collected by employees of Brooks Memorial Hospital and TLC Health Network for distribution in the northern part of the county. Over 250 presents were donated by the employees for children up to five years old who are enrolled in the Head Start Program. In addition to these children; 32 of the neediest of those families will be provided with a Christmas dinner from Tops Market with the additional $400 that was collected to put toward the holiday meals. COI followed its basic themes in this Christmas giving, which include promoting school success and healthy living. Brooks was provided with lists of educational toys and supplies that would help children to better perform academically and/or be prepared for school needs. The meals are comprehensive and will be healthy and allow for choices, all within a healthy balanced meal. COI's Keller said "we very much appreciate the generosity and the time and effort by Brooks Hospital administration and staff. We want to especially thank Sallie Piazza, who worked with our staff for many months in coordinating this effort."
