More than 400 physician practices and counting are now utilizing HEALTHeLINK, Western New York's clinical information exchange, to improve the quality of patient care, enhance patient safety, and reduce future health care costs through secure and electronic access to clinical information. Parikh Pediatrics in Dunkirk is the latest practice to join HEALTHeLINK.
HEALTHeLINK is a collaborative effort among Western New York health care organizations for providers to share medical information, such as lab results, radiology tests, prescription histories, and more through an electronic information exchange. Patients authorize physicians who are involved in their care to access their health information through HEALTHeLINK by signing a consent form, which can be obtained at their physician's office or by downloading from HEALTHeLINK's website, www.wnyhealthelink.com. More than 450,000 Western New Yorkers have already given their health care providers better access to the information they need by giving their consent.
