Westfield rallies past Cougars for spot in title game

SINCLAIRVILLE - It will be Westfield battling Oracle Charter tonight for the championship after the first round of the Cassadaga Valley Holiday Tournament ended Thursday night.

The host Cougars (1-1, 4-2) led by a single point over Westfield (1-0, 3-3) after the third quarter in the second game of the night, but Jon Coe had all of his 11 points and Dan DeMarco added five points as the Wolverines went on an 18-11 run in the final period for the six-point win, 58-52.

Coe and DeMarco led Westfield with 11 points each while Dan Tofil had 10 points and eight rebounds and Tanner Dahl had 10 points.

For Cassadaga Valley, Randy Dalaba led the way with 15 points and eight rebounds, Mike Lancaster was right behind with 14 points, along with a block, three assists and four steals and Kyle Ruge had four assists.

In the first game, Oracle Charter improved its overall record to 6-1 by cruising to a 60-29 victory over previously unbeaten Clymer. Oracle Charter's only setback this season came against Clarence.

Jammarr Cunningham led Oracle's balanced attack with 15 points, Eric Waters added 14 , Antone Gulledge had 12 and Gerald Bibbs added 11 points

For Clymer, Dan Lictus was the top shooter with 15 points.

Oracle Charter will take on Westfield in the title game at 7:30 p.m. while Cassadaga Valley will meet Clymer in the consolation game at 6 p.m.
