The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department took on the Lakeview Shock Correction Officers in a charity basketball game recently at Forestville Central School. Proceeds from the game benefited Aili Makuch, 16, a pediatric cancer patient.

The A Automotive Used Auto Parts Lakers rallied for the league win after being down 2-1 at the start of the second period.
Mitchell Pascarella scored four goals while Josh Walsh, Andrew Dix, Brian Burns, Tim Harris and Jackson Knupp each recorded a goal. Brett Sowa, Jackson Taylor, Pascarella (two), Dix (two), Walsh, Harris and Burns tallied assists.
The win was made possible by strong defense from Samantha Davis and Drake Bell. Brandon Prentiss earned the win in goal.

Austin Rott played outstanding in the net for the Steelers anchoring the team to a strong win.
Opening up the scoring for Fredonia was Cooper Harris, assisted by Alex Rush. Ethan Brunner then scored in the second and third periods, assisted by Rush and Harris.
Strong defense was played by Jack Storm and Zach Korzeniewski.

Fredonia State's "Skate with the Blue Devils"
The Fredonia State men's hockey team will host its annual "Skate with the Blue Devils" on Wednesday, Jan. 2 from 6-7 p.m. in the Steele Hall Ice Arena.
The event will include hockey drills, skills, fun and games. Full equipment is required.
Admission is a canned food item, which will be donated to a local food bank.
Baseball Umpires Assoc.
Chautauqua County Baseball Umpires Association will be holding classes for anyone interested in becoming a baseball umpire for this upcoming high school season.
Classes will be held during January and February. For additional information, contact Ray Lindquist at 450-2158.
