Driver charged with DWI after accident and truck fire

PERRYSBURG -Early Monday morning, troopers based at the Collins barracks were called to the scene of a truck fire on Peck Hill Road.

Investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Corey Daniels, 24, lost control of his 1997 Chevrolet pickup on a snow-covered roadway, becoming disabled in a ditch. While Daniels was attempting to free the truck, it caught on fire, ultimately destroying the entire cab portion. The Perrysburg Volunteer Fire Company responded and put out the fire.

Daniels was transported from the scene to the Collins barracks, where he reportedly failed numerous field sobriety tests. While at the barracks, Daniels provided a breath sample reported to be .17 percent. He was processed for the Town of Perrysburg Court and is scheduled to appear at a later date.

Fredonia Police Department

Brian K. Barmore, 20, of Water Street was charged with disorderly conduct on Dec. 21. At 12:46 a.m. police observed a verbal argument on Canadaway Street. Barmore failed to move on from the scene after being directed by police to do so. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Sean M. Moore, 25, of Newton Street was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08, or more, driving while intoxicated, speeding and failure to keep right on Dec. 23. At 2:31 a.m. police observed a vehicle operated by Moore cross the center lane on Center Street. Moore appeared to be intoxicated and failed several sobriety tests. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Michael W. Ostler, 28, of Fredonia was charged with a warrant on Dec. 24. He was taken into custody by Dunkirk Police Department and held pending arraignment.

State Police at Jamestown

FREWSBURG - On Dec. 19, Jamie Morreale, 36, of Frewsburg was charged with driving while intoxicated, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance in a non-original container, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

She was pulled over on Frew Run Road for a reported traffic violation. She reportedly failed several field sobriety tests. In addition, troopers report she was in possession of 13 hydrocodone pills and a bag containing marijuana.

Morreale was transported to the state police barracks in Jamestown where she provided a breath sample that was reported to be .14 percent. She was processed, issued traffic tickets and appearance tickets for the Town of Carroll Court, and released to a sober individual.

LAKEWOOD - On Friday, William Storm, 58, of Lakewood was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

He was pulled over on East Terrace for a reported traffic violation. He reportedly failed several field sobriety tests and was transported to state police barracks in Jamestown where his breath sample was reported .19 percent.

Storm was processed, issued tickets returnable to the Town of Busti Court, and released to a sober individual.

KENNEDY - On Friday, MaryJo Newman, 39, of Kennedy was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

At about 2 p.m. a trooper responded to the report of a hit and run property damage accident on Route 394. A witness reported seeing Newman strike a guard rail with her vehicle and continue driving to her residence.

The trooper located Newman and reported she failed several field sobriety tests. He transported her to the state police barracks in Jamestown where she provided a breath sample reported at .19 percent.

Newman was processed, issued tickets returnable to the Town of Poland Court and released to a sober individual.
