Steelers take part in Club Hockey tourney

CHEEKTOWAGA - The Dunkirk-Fredonia Steelers compiled a 1-1-1 record at the Western New York Club Hockey League Christmas Tournament at Leisure Rinks over the weekend.

In the opening game of the tournament, the Steelers edged Olean, 3-2, led by Dylan Munson and Matt Sheridan.

Munson and Sheridan each had a goal and two assists while Matt Szalkowski added a goal for the winners.

Jared Hebner was the winning goalie.

In the second game, the Steelers battled Alden to a 2-all deadlock.

Munson and Connor Graves each netted a goal and Sheridan was credited with two assists.

Carson Rafan was in net for Dunkirk-Fredonia.

In the final game, St. Joes "A" handled the Steelers, 6-2.

Goals for Dunkirk-Fredonia were awarded to Sheridan and Nick Formanowicz. Assists were tallied by Munson, Szalkowski and Connor Graves.
