CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy has recently claimed several awards for top performance among the Job Corps Centers operated by Career Systems Development Corporation.
The Academy captured recognition for Best Overall Performance, Most Improved Performance, Best Health and Wellness Program, Best Average Wage, Best Six Month Placement, Best 12 Month Placement and Best Literacy Program.
The directors and managers recognized were Vincent Trippi, workforce development director; Thayne Bodenmiller, administration director; Demond Johnson, data integrity and records manager; Ann Anderson, academy director; Alvin Lotts, deputy academy director; Susan Sosinski, health and wellness manager; and Robert Benjamin, career development director.

Career Systems Development Corporation is the primary contracted operator of nine Job Corps Centers and acts as a sub-contractor on three additional Job Corps Centers throughout the nation. The performance of Job Corps Centers is measured by the Job Corps Outcome Measurement System and reports the performance of all Job Corps Centers across the country. In the recently ended Job Corps program year the Cassadaga Job Corps finished seventh among the 125 Job Corps Centers nationwide. Job Corps Centers are ranked based on several factors including GED and vocational completions; placement in work, college or the military; and student earnings after graduation.
Cassadaga Academy Director Ann Anderson said, "It is such a high honor to be recognized by our company for the hard work of our staff and students throughout the past year. It was a great year, and we will strive to maintain the tradition of excellence here at Cassadaga Job Corps."
The Cassadaga Job Corps Academy provides career technical training to over 400 students per year, helping to prepare young people to be successful in the workplace. Students who are also in need of a diploma are given the opportunity to earn a GED or high school diploma while enrolled. All students attend on a federal scholarship after being deemed eligible according to Job Corps guidelines. While most students reside on campus, local students may be considered for non-residential status.
