Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office

CHAUTAUQUA - On Dec. 22, deputies arrested David M. Niemeyer, 21, of Ashville, on charges of petit larceny. It is alleged Niemeyer stole two iPods from a home on Old Route 17 in the Town of Chautauqua on Dec. 21.

Niemeyer was arraigned in the town of Chautauqua court and committed to the county jail in lieu of $500 bail.

POLAND - On Dec. 25, a Kennedy youth was charged with failure to keep right and speed not reasonable and prudent after an accident with minor injuries.

It is alleged Elizabeth A. Swanson, 17, of Kennedy, was eastbound on Sprague Hill Road when she failed to negotiate the curve near Cobb Road. Swanson's vehicle went off the road striking a road sign and a utility pole. She was transported to WCA by the Kennedy Rescue Unit for minor injuries.

Swanson was issued appearance tickets for the town of Poland court at a later date.

MAYVILLE - The sheriff's office has announced Jacob T. Soggs, 30, of Dunkirk can be removed from the Chautauqua County wanted list. Soggs was wanted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office for a sex offender registry violation. Soggs was arrested by Chautauqua County Sheriff's office and is currently in the county jail pending arraignment on his outstanding warrant.
