RIPLEY - Falconer topped Westfield-Ripley-Chautauqua Lake, 36-32, in CCAA Division 1 high school wrestling action Wednesday, winning just one more match to pull off the victory.
After dropping the first two matches, Westfield-Ripley-Chautauqua Lake's Nick Hudson (113-pounds) and Roger Williams (120) won back-to-back matches, with Hudson winning a 4-2 decision over Jacob Peru and Williams edging Tim Franzen, 5-3.
The two teams traded four-match win streaks with WRCL's Nick Zent's winning in 5:43 over Brandon Teboe in the contest at 152, Dominique Rammelt beating Seth Abbey, 16-8 at 160 and Tyler Furlow pinning Jimmy Schwab at the 3:02 mark of the match at 182. Caleb Lawson won by forfeit at 170. Trevor Enterline rounded out the winners for the home team, beating the Golden Falcons' Jake Penhollow, 12-2, in the match at 220.
