Fredonia State and New England College skated to a 2-2 tie in non-conference men's hockey Saturday at the Steele Hall Ice Arena.
All the scoring was done in a matter of minutes. The Blue Devils (5-9-1) took a 2-0 lead in the second period on goals 29 seconds apart. Mat Hehr worked his way around and past a defender for his fifth goal of the season at 6:40. Jared Wynia made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 7:09 while the Blue Devils were skating with a 5-on-3 advantage. It was Wynia's fourth goal of the season.

Cheyne Matheson scored both goals for the Pilgrims (4-6-2). His first, on a power play, came at 10:28, and the game-tying goal came at 12:31.
Fredonia State goaltender Mark Friesen was credited with 32 saves, 15 of them in the third period, plus the five-minute overtime. NEC's Shawn Sirman made 20 saves.
The Blue Devils take to the road for their next five games, starting next Friday and Saturday at Neumann.
