At the last meeting of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) the members and guests were entertained by the Chautauqua Children's Chorale under the direction of Marjorie Bohn. The Concert Chorale filled the dining room at Shorewood Country Club with seasonal music that included many solos. The chorale's assistant conductor is Amanda Pearo. Casey Grey accompanied the vocalists.
The next Dunkirk-Fredonia AAUW meeting will be Feb. 9. The speakers, Janeil Ray and her students, will be reporting on their experiences in Belize where they will have worked in classrooms during SUNY Fredonia's January J-Term.
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through education, advocacy, and research. Membership is open to college students as well as anyone holding an associate's or higher degree from an accredited college or university. One focus of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Branch is to offer scholarships to SUNY Fredonia and Empire College students. Those interested in learning more about AAUW or becoming members should contact Peg Tiffany at 673-1838.
