Elizabeth I. Soto of Ripley, NY died Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2013) at St. Vincent's Health Center in Erie, Pa., following a short illness. Her loving family was at her bedside as she passed into the Lord's hands.
She was born April 14, 1943 in Oil City, Pa., to the late William and Hazel Brown.
On Nov. 7, 1962, Elizabeth married Regalado Soto in North East, Pa. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2012.
She was employed as a house cleaner until her retirement.
During her lifetime, Elizabeth was a member of the Ripley Baptist Church.
Her survivors include five children, Tina Blystone, William (Tammy) Soto of Ripley, NY, Michael (Hope) Soto of Westfield, NY, Carmen Wettekin of North East, Pa., and Rick Soto of Fairview, Pa. Elizabeth is also survived by six siblings, Alena, Pete and Gene Brown of Titusville, Pa., Christopher Brown of Waterford, Pa., Walter Brown of Westfield, NY and Judy Houser of Dayton, Pa.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Regalado Soto Jr.; and her brother, Joseph Brown of Titusville, Pa.
An 11:00 AM Memorial Service celebrating Elizabeth's life will be held at the Ripley Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 with the Rev. Donald Eggleston officiating. Interment will be in the Quincy Cemetery at the convenience of the family. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 West Main Street, Ripley, NY.
