SOUTH DAYTON - Sharon S. St.John, age 45, of Oak Street, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from complications with diabetes at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
Born in Gowanda, NY July 29, 1967, the daughter of Gordon H. and Veronica E. (Smith) Brown.
Sharon was a private in-home health caregiver prior to her own health problems. She enjoyed life to the fullest, had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that became contagious. She had a way of calling things the way she saw them and accepting the good and the bad.
She is survived by her companion Thomas Kahabka of South Dayton and his son Christian (whom she considered her own). Sharon is also survived by her brother Arthur (Diane) Miller of Forestville, sisters Mrs. Terry (Linda) Payne, Jeannine Smith, all of Ocala Fla., Mrs. Robert (Mary) Anderson of Englewood, Fla., Candace McGowan of Summerfield, Fla Mrs. Mark (Michelle) Odebralski of Forestville; and step siblings, Desiree Ortel and Gordon Steffen of Hamburg. Sharon is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father Gordon Brown, who died Jan. 21, 2001; her mother Veronica E. Lucas, on Nov. 20, 2011; stepfather Ronald Lucas (Nov. 18, 2009); and a niece, Julia Reddick (Jeannine's daughter) who died Feb. 4, 2009.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday January 19, 2013 @11 a.m. in the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda, NY (716)-532-4200.
