Eleanor M. Krochmal, 92, of Dunkirk, formerly of Dansville, NY, died Tuesday morning (Jan. 15, 2013) at the Chautauqua County Home.
She was born February 17, 1920 in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Carol and Helen (Malkowski) Kucmierz.
Mrs. Krochmal was a past employee of Kelly Brothers Nursery in Dansville.
Her memberships included St. Mary's R. C. Church in Dansville, the parish Altar and Rosary Society, Noyes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Dansville.
Eleanor was an avid card player and also enjoyed playing Bingo.
Surviving are her son Charles (Kristine) Krochmal of Pinckney, MI; sisters Josephine Lis, Wanda (Al) Graminski, both of Dunkirk, Helen Jackson of Oswego, NY and Jane Stefan of Dunkirk; grandchildren Andrew Krochmal of Rochester Hills, MI, Phillip (Heather) Krochmal of Royal Oak, MI, along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Casimer Krochmal, who died March 2, 2001; and brothers John, Thomas, Aloysius and Casimer Kucmierz.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9:30 in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will follow in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.
