City fight report leads to drug charges

Three city residents are facing drug charges after police were called to a fight near 200 S. Beaver St. around 2:37 a.m. Saturday.

Dunkirk police reported Justin T. Schuk, 31, Jordyn P. Plaza, 22, and Fred A. Santiago, 24, were charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

All three were occupants in a vehicle where a quantity of suspected marijuana, crack and powder cocaine was observed by officers and seized. Plaza was charged with two additional counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a narcotic pill and additional crack was found in his possession during booking.

Jamestown Police make narcotics arrest

A Jamestown man has been charged following a narcotics investigation.

Abner Cintron-Melendez, 27, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon on Thursday. At 8 p.m. investigators and members of the Jamestown Police Department SWAT team executed a search warrant at 804 Prendergast Ave. in the city. During the search warrant, officers also found a .25 caliber handgun along with a quantity of crack cocaine and cash. Cintron-Melendez was transported to the city jail where he is awaiting arraignment. Anyone who has information on the illegal sales of narcotics can call the department's anonymous tip line at 483-TIPS (8477).

KIANTONE - A four car accident sent five to the hospital Friday evening. At 8:47 p.m. a vehicle driven by Jesse Heppler of Lakewood and a vehicle driven by Kenny Torry of Jamestown were stopped for a snow plow on Route 60 at Maple Avenue. A vehicle driven by Mitchell Costanzo of Frewsburg struck Torry's vehicle pushing it into Heppler's vehicle. All three drivers as well as a passenger in Torry's vehicle, Ryan Sanderson of Westfield, were taken to WCA Hospital for evaluation of injuries. No charges are pending at this time.

KIANTONE - Jeffrey S. Perrin, 46, of Falconer was charged with driving while intoxicated, moving from lane unsafely, having unsafe tires, having an unregistered vehicle and operating without insurance on Jan. 17. At 9:40 p.m. deputies investigated a single vehicle rollover crash on Manchester Road. Perrin was operating a vehicle southbound when he lost control and rolled the vehicle over onto its roof in the ditch. Both Perrin and his passenger, Angela L. Person, 41, of Falconer were treated by Kiantone and Busti Fire departments at the scene. Both were transported to WCA Hospital for minor injuries. Additional charges are pending the outcome of a blood test. Perrin will appear in Kiantone Town Court at a later date.

BROCTON - Christopher A. Moore, 31, of Dunkirk was charged with failure to use a turn signal, driving while intoxicated and having a blood alcohol content of .08 or more on Jan. 13. Deputies stopped Moore for failure to use a turn signal while making a turn onto Greenbush Street from Central Avenue. Further investigation found Moore to be intoxicated. He was released on appearance tickets for the Village of Brocton Court at a later date.

MINA - Neville B. Askins, 18, of Erie, Pa. was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding on Jan. 18. Deputies stopped Askins' vehicle for speeding on Sunnyside Road at 10:41 p.m. Deputies detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, Cassidy C. Earls, 17, of Northeast, Pa. was also found to be in possession of marijuana. She was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Both were released on appearance tickets for Mina Town Court.
