Silver Creek remained at No. 2 for the second straight week in the New York State Sportswriters Association Class C boys basketball poll. The Black Knights (12-0, 7-0) will put their perfect record on the line Friday night when they host CCAA Division II foe Salamanca (6-6, 3-4).
Other Western New York teams making the rankings were Niagara Falls (No. 2, AA), Williamsville North (No. 23, AA), Jamestown (No. 24, AA), Canisius (No. 3, A), St. Joseph's (No. 12, A), McKinley (No. 15, A), Amherst (No. 17, A), Olean (No. 1, B), Nichols (No. 3, B), Cleveland Hill (No. 15, B), Buffalo Middle College (No. 4, C), Maple Grove (No. 5, C) and Sherman (No. 9, D).
Earning honorable mention were Clarence (AA), Kenmore West (AA), South Park (A), Sweet Home (A), Buffalo CSAT (B), Buffalo East (B), Lackawanna (B), St. Mary's of Lancaster (B), Oracle Charter (C) and Clymer (D).

Silver Creek big man Bill Brooks, a sophomore, has helped the Black Knights to a 12-0 record this season, as well as the No. 2 ranking in the NYSSWA Class C boys’ basketball poll.
Meanwhile, in the girls rankings, Chautauqua Lake (10-0, 7-0) came in at No. 25, after being No. 3 last week.
Other girls teams from Western New York making the rankings include Jamestown (No. 22, AA), Lockport (No. 28, AA), Buffalo Sacred Heart (No. 6, A), Hamburg (No. 17, A), Wilson (No. 10, B), Cardinal O'Hara (No. 13, B), Olean (No. 20, B), Frewsburg (No. 13, C), Clymer (No. 16, D) and Sherman which is tied with Section 2's Argyle at No. 20.
